Insect Week returns in 2022
The Dipterists Forum is the society for the study of true flies (Diptera). It was established in 1993 to study every aspect of the lives of flies, including the habitats they require. The Forum’s major achievement to date has been to map the UK distribution of several groups of species but there is still much to be done (e.g. the immature stages of most species are still unknown).
Fairy wasps are the smallest known insects, the tiniest species is only 0.139 mm long.
